Who is Jesus Christ?

Growing up I had no real clue who Jesus was. He was talked about a lot in church. I knew he died on a cross, but had no real idea why. I was not sure if he was a man, a story teller, a philosopher. The truth is I was right about all three, yet that still does not explain who Jesus was and is. Jesus was a man who told stories and had philosophies on life. He was however so much more, he was God. The world today is set up to keep people from ever learning that simple truth about Jesus. Even if you go looking for Jesus, you will still have problems finding the truth about him. All bibles accept the King James rob Jesus of his deity.

Jesus is part of what is called the trinity, the triune Godhead, comprised of the father, the son, and the holy spirit. Jesus was tasked with the Job of coming to earth as a man, and to die for the sins of everyone on earth. This was appointed to him by the father who is Lord over all.

John 3

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

This event in human history was well prophesied, going all the way back to Abraham. The Jewish people were promised a savior, who would take away the sins of the world. They were suppose to be on the look out for him. The prophet Daniel said, that in 490 years their messiah would come to rule over them. They did not take this seriously, because when he came they did not receive him.

John 1

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Jesus was brought into this world by his father miraculously impregnating a virgin. This had to be done to keep the child pure and sinless. In Jesus life he never once committed a sin. He couldn't, because he did not have the sin nature that we have. Jesus wanted his people to accept him as their king, but he knew they wouldn't. They wanted a man who was a big shot to rule over them. Knowing this, he came as a very lowly man, who would sleep on the streets. Their was a back up plan however, Jesus true mission on earth was to be a sacrifice for all peoples sins. He would trade his life for ours. Us being dead in sins and him being alive, he could do that. Through his death, burial, and resurrection, all people could go to heaven, just by believing that Jesus paid the price. No one can make it to heaven on their own. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God

All people have a sin nature and no amount of good works can take that away. We all need Jesus, he is the only way to heaven, his blood washes away all of our sins.

John 14

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Matthew 7

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Hebrews 9

22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Romans 5

9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Ephesians 1

7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Jesus died for all. If you have not accepted Christ as your savior, I encourage to do so now. All you have to do is believe that Jesus died, was buried, and rose from that dead as payment for your sins. It costs nothing to believe, but will cost you everything if you don't. God bless.
