What is the Purpose of Life
Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I have heard this question all my life. I use to see TV commercials as a kid with people stressed out asking what is the meaning of life. I didn't understand why they asked that question. Now that I am a Christian the answer has become clear to me. Every person's purpose is to serve God. God put everyone of us on earth to serve him. He first expects everyone to believe on his son and then to tell the world about him. I have heard that the key to happiness is doing the will of God. People will look in a million different places trying to find happiness, but wind up unsatisfied. For many it is success, for others it is thrill seeking, or accomplishing a long term goal. There are endless roads people go down trying to find happiness. A lot of people go through life thinking that happiness is the purpose of life. This is also wrong. Service is the purpose of life. When God put us here, he had a plan for us. Because of our sin, that plan has changed over the years. Adam and Eve were suppose to tend to the garden and make babies. Unfortunately they sinned against God and were kick out of paradise. Then God called the Nation of Israel into existence, to serve him and bring about the King of the world. Then they killed Jesus Christ and the plan changed again. Next God reached out to the gentiles with the free gift of salvation, in hopes that they would believe and serve him. That is where we are today. How does someone serve God? As I stated earlier he wants us to first believe that his son died for our sins. He wants us to recognize that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh. Once we do that, then he wants us to be obedient to him. He wants us to find out what his will is for our life. Then he expects us to do his will.
Luke 22
42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
God wants us to sacrifice ourselves for him, like he sacrificed himself for us. This is the meaning of life. That we do the will of the father. Let me tell you, this is not easy. It is hard for some of us to give up control over our lives and fully submit to God. If you do not submit, then life begins to lose it's purpose. God will make sure that anyone living for his will, will be filled with joy and taken care of. Living strictly for self can devoid life of meaning. Weather lost or saved, this will not lead to your best life. God has a specific purpose for every person on earth. For some it may be preaching, or having a Godly home, or missionary work, or charity work, etc.. That is between each person and God. All Christians are here to set an example for the world around us. We should represent Jesus Christ every where we go and in all that we do. If God had no purpose for our life then after we get saved, he would just take us out of here. Unfortunately, if he did that then there would be no one left to share the gospel. Getting saved would become extremely difficult. I feel that our highest duty while in this life, is to bring people to Jesus Christ. I have failed to do this most of my life and have reaped the spoils of that. Do yourself a favor and live for the purpose that God has put you here to do. How does someone find out the will of God? Seek the Lord in prayer, ask him what he would have you to do. Keep pursuing him until he reveals it to you. Also, by studying the scriptures. God speaks to people through the Bible. As you read you may come across verses that resonate with you and reveal your calling. I believe that my calling is to be a soul winner. It is a simple job, just hand out tracts and talk to people about Jesus Christ. By doing this I will truly be living the purpose driven life.
I hope you enjoyed this article. If you are not a Christian, I invite you to get saved now.
Tomorrow may be to late. To get saved all you have to do, is admit that you are a sinner and
that Jesus Christ died for your sins. The only way to take away sins is with the pure shed
blood of Jesus Christ. Good works can not take away sins. If they could, then Jesus Christ
died in vain. Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead as payment for all sins. Once
you believe that, you are saved forever. You did nothing to earn it and you can do nothing to
lose it.
Titus 3
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Romans 6
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Ephesians 1
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Ephesians 2
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
