We Wrestle Not With Flesh And Blood

Ephesians 6:12- For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The longer that I am a Christian, the more I realize that there are demons all around us. I have interacted with many demons in my life. They do not take on bodily form, but instead work through people. I think at times they even work through animals. They come to steal, kill, and destroy. They are energy vampires. They feed off of human misery. They want to ruin the lives of every Christian on the Planet. They will also ruin lost peoples lives, but their main concern is Christians. How do we protect ourselves against these demonic spirits?
First off we need to know how these demons can come into our lives. What is it that Christians do that invites demons into their lives? The simple answer is sin. A born again believer living a life of habitual sin, will in time invite demons into their lives. I believe that the number one reason for demonic activity in a persons life is drugs and alcohol. Drugs in the bible are referred to as sorcery and witchcraft. Anyone who knows anything about sorcery and witchcraft, knows that they deal with the demonic realm. They may call them spirits, energy, or whatever. At the end of the day these people are summoning demons to do there bidding. Some of the practitioners don't even know what they are messing with, but the high up occultist do. When a person does drugs they call up demonic forces into their lives. God in his mercy builds a hedge around new believers to protect them from the attacks of Satan. It is up to the believer to maintain that hedge. They can also tear it down. Prolonged drug use is a great way to tear down that hedge. It also gets believers outside the will of God, where he can no longer protect them. Drugs will call up the worst kinds of demons. I feel the worst drugs of all are psychedelic drugs, including marijuana. Mix psychedelic drugs with Satan's music and you are flirting with disaster. When God has had enough and the hedge is destroyed, the restrainer (God) will turn the devil loose on that person. As Yankee Arnold once put it, "it would be better if that person had never been born". Just imagine your worst nightmare. That would be your life plus a whole lot more. People that were once friends become hateful enemies. Kind people become mean spirited uncaring monsters. There is no love anywhere, no joy, no peace, the party is over. Alcohol will bring about the same consequences as drugs. They are often done together. Another name for alcohol is spirits, because that is what it opens people up too. I also believe that phonography is another horrible sin that can call evil demons into a persons life. Satan loves sexual perversion, because it messes up God's plan for a man and a woman. Sex is how life is created and Satan wants to twist it into something disgusting. Satan is a wicked despicable monster. Pornography will have the same destroying affects on a persons life, as drugs. There are a lot of other sins out there that will call up demons into a persons life, but I believe that drugs, alcohol, and phonography, are the big ones.
What does wrestling against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places; look like? It can take on many different forms, but the main one is people. Dealing with wicked evil people. When the bible says we wrestle not against flesh and blood, this is what it is talking about. Satan and his demons will use lost people as empty vessels, to attack believers. It gets very personal with these people. They viscously attack without remorse. The are extremely hostile and the drain you of your energy. You may get ganged up on by large groups of people. It will feel like the world hates you, because it does. Satan HATES you! God will make sure to isolate you from other believers (who could comfort and help you), to make to the pain more severe. God does not want you to ever engage in those sinful habits again. God will give you time to straighten out your life, but if you do not, he will. He will turn the Devil loose on you with no restraint. The people he uses will get very nasty with you. You will be oppressed, worthless, and never have any wins. You will be hated, mocked, and laughed to scorn. Suicide will be strongly considered at the height of demonic attack. Some will even go through with it. I am talking about attack at it's worst. This is not Christians serving God having minor conflicts with people. I am talking full blown demonic attack. You will be drained constantly and be filled with negativity and hopelessness. Any effort rectify the situation on your own will fail. Any angle you work to try and make it stop will fail. God will stop you at every turn. A lot of Christians, going through this have no idea what is going on. The world no longer makes sense and they wonder what happened. Little do they know that they are reaping what they sowed. It can make a person extremely bitter towards God, he was suppose to bless and protect them. Not outside of his will, he won't. God can not bless sin!
Other forms of demonic attack can be a persons mental and physical health. They may come down with incurable diseases that leave doctors baffled. There mind may torment them day and night. They never get any peace, all they know is suffering. Another form of attack is affliction, where a person develops a strange problem. For instance they may start stuttering very badly, or have a disgusting odor, or become extremely dumb when they were once smart. Satan will be allowed to attack a persons point of pride. It may be a person who is a gifted athlete and becomes uncoordinated or a beautiful girl who develops a deformity, the list can go on and on. Ask yourself if you have a point of pride, then ask what the opposite of that would be, and you can get an idea of what an attack might look like on your life. A lot of mature believers do not have pride anymore and good for them. That brings us to the final point, what puts an end to these attacks?
The attacks will always exist, but you can do things to greatly diminish them. The best way to end demonic attacks is to serve God. Live in obedience to him. Ask God for help. Be humble before him and admit you made a mistake and you need help getting out of the mess you made. God will not cast you out, he will help you. All he wants was for believers is to draw near to him and serve him, after they get saved. Some obey others disobey. The disobedient child is still a child. God will begin working on them. He will put it on their heart to read the bible, pray, go to church, and lead others to the Lord. He will give them guilt and shame over sin, to make them stop doing it. God wants all of his children to turn from sin and toward him. God will help us to sanctify and grow into mature believers, living for him. When a person becomes mature, the attacks of the Devil become pretty minor. Though in certain cases tests come along that can get intense, but God will see them through it.
If you are a Christian and find yourself dealing with constant negativity and evil people, it most likely is demonic. Do not get mad at these people or try to fight back. You will NOT win. You are fighting against demons and they will outsmart you. They are very crafty, low, and sickening creatures. Be kind to the people who terrorize you and turn toward God. If you serve God, he will fight for you and he ALWAYS wins.
I hope you enjoyed this article. If you are not a Christian, I invite you to get saved now. Tomorrow may be to late. To get saved all you have to do, is admit that you are a sinner and that Jesus Christ died for your sins. The only way to take away sins is with the pure shed blood of Jesus Christ. Good works can not take away sins. If they could, then Jesus Christ died in vain. Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead as payment for all sins. Once you believe that, you are saved forever. You did nothing to earn it and you can do nothing to lose it.
Romans 3
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 5
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Ephesians 2
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
John 3
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
