Starting the day out right
Updated: Apr 14, 2021

Do you ever find yourself waking up dreading the day ahead of you or find yourself stressed through out the day. Maybe your morning is great then something happens that ruins your whole day. Finding peace and joy in this stressful and chaotic world can be difficult. Many people will find various "stress relievers" to deal with life. For some it is strong drink, others drugs, or sex, or whatever does the trick. The problem is that these things are only temporary, not to mention potentially harmful to ones health. These things are usually done at the end of the day, as relief from a long day of stress and worry. I am here to say that these people have it wrong. First of all, you don't need chemical dopamine releases to feel at peace and secondly, you don't need relief from your day at the end of it.
I was once in the camp mentioned above. Life was simply to stressful not to turn to the bottle and besides I worked hard, I deserved it. I knew this was not Gods will for my life and I wanted to be more pleasing to him. Through studying Gods word and listening to sermons I found that there is a better way. Starting the morning out Gods way. What is Gods way you might ask? Well lets dive in.
Psalms 5
3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Matthew 21
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
When I first get up in the morning I like to kneel next to my bed and pray. I find this is one of the best ways to start the day. It gives me a chance to connect with the Lord and start the day out right. Giving the Lord reverence and priority over all things. A good thing to pray about is any concerns you may have for that day. Pray for God to bless your day and give you strength and wisdom, to get through any problems you might have.
Psalms 118
24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalms 143
8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
The next thing I like to do is sit down and read the bible. This can be 1 or 2 chapters or up to an hour. Reading the word gives God glory. It lets him be the first one who talks to you that day. You can gain insights that can also help you with any trials you may face. I feel that most importantly it is well pleasing to God that you are showing obedience and righteousness. This gives me the feeling that God has my back and no matter what happens, he will see me through it.
Philippians 4
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Lamentations 3
22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
The final thing I like to do, if I have enough time is, listen to sermons. This can set my soul at ease. I like to go on youtube and look up sermon topics that interest me. Then pick a good fundamental preacher to listen too. God really loves it when you dedicate time to him and he remembers it. He will have blessings waiting for you. If you are looking for a blessed life, this is one of the best ways to get it. So, start your day out with God and you won't need to end it with a "stress reliever". Thank you for reading my blog and have a blessed day. I will leave you with God's plan of salvation, the gospel.
I Corinthians 15
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
