Proverbs
Updated: Apr 16, 2021

I will be writing on the book of Proverbs in my upcoming posts. A proverb is a short saying expressing truths about Godly living. King Solomon wrote Proverbs, where he shares his wisdom with the world. I will go through the first couple chapters in this Post and cover others in future posts. Lets dive into this book.
Proverbs chapter 1
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
This really sums up the Christian life. The fear of the Lord can really guide your decisions
and keep you on the right path, amongst other things. He goes on to say, avoid violent people, quick to steal and shed blood. Don't you just wish the young people today would obey this. If they just had the fear of the Lord they would know better, and make better decisions. He goes on to say they are basically taking there own lives. Their destruction will come as a whirlwind and God will laugh at them.
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
God will protect the ones obedient to him. There is a lot of evil out there that God can surround a believer with if they choose not to fear the Lord.
Proverbs chapter 2
Goes on to describe the believer who seeks the wisdom of God and hides it in their heart. It should be one of the highest priorities in our life.
9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
Once these thing are understood they will guide the path of the believer and give them discretion. It then goes on to talk about godless women who commit fornication, and how the men that seek these women find their own death. Both the man and the woman find death. Which is a spiritual death. He goes on to encourage believers to walk righteously, because there are consequences if they don't.
20 That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
Proverbs chapter 3
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
He wants us to keep his laws and live them every day in our lives. Also he wants us to give of our increase or tithe, and he will repay it with more.
11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
He talks about chastening for disobedience and not to be angry because it is for our own good. It goes on to say, happy is the man who finds wisdom. That it is more precious than gold, silver, rubies, and all things that you can desire. It says your foot will not stumble, you will be safe, and have sweet sleep.
31 Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.
Do not behave like the wicked, even if they are lofty. God will destroy these people in the end. He gives grace unto the lowly and they will inherit glory.
The Bible is Gods guide book to the Christian life. It has all the evidence in it to support eternal security as well. Many believe the book of proverbs is one of the best books for living the Christian life. Definitely read it and study it if you haven't, you won't be disappointed.
Thank you for reading my Blog and I will leave you with the Gospel.
I Corinthians 15
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
