Lordship Salvation

The thought of going to heaven rarely crosses the average persons mind. Most people are lost and don't care about heaven or hell. There are however a few seekers that want to know about God and how to get to heaven. They go out into the world seeking salvation. They will go to the first church they find, because in their mind all churches are the same. In these churches, they will most likely encounter lordship salvation. What is lordship salvation? It teaches that salvation (going to heaven) is obtained by doing good works. This is a damnable heresy, that will get all adherents sent to hell. Lordship salvation is a creation of the Devil, to get anyone interested in salvation sent to hell. Satan does not want anyone to get saved, if he can't go to heaven, you can't either. True salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone. We must put our faith in the fact that Jesus Christ died for our sins. Jesus paid the full sin debt of the entire world on the cross. He was buried and rose again on the third day. If you put your faith in Christ alone you will have eternal life. No amount of good works or turning from sins can ever get anyone saved. You can not add anything to salvation. As soon as you add something to it, it is no longer valid. For instance, putting your faith in Christ plus repenting of your sins. This will not get anyone saved. The Jesus Christ was God in the flesh, his shed blood was enough to get all people saved.

There are many false preachers out there preaching this lordship gospel. In fact the vast majority of preachers, preach this false gospel. They are either aware or unaware of what they are doing. Some of these preachers are outright Satan worshippers, doing the will of their god. Others have simply been deceived by the Devil and think they are doing good. Some are just in it for the money and could care less. They will preach the message in many different forms. The most popular one is, "repent of your sins." This is a popular term used to describe turning from a sinful lifestyle toward a righteous lifestyle. Getting the sin out of your life, in order to get saved. The problem with this is, it is impossible to stop sinning. No matter how hard we try, we can not stop sinning. It is in our nature. It is a part of who we are. This false gospel only frustrates people and leaves them confused about weather or not they are saved. It is Satanic to its core. True biblical repentance, is simply a change of mind. For example, I once believed that God was not real and now I believe he is real. Another popular term is "make God the Lod of your life." This is where you submit to the will of God in order to get saved. This is just another way of saying repent of your sins. In fact there are many ways to repackage this message. Such as: turn from your sins, put Christ on the throne of your life, give your life to Christ, Commit to following Christ, be willing to turn from your sins. All of these are the same thing, a works based salvation. The core of lordship salvation is: one must forsake all sins and follow Christ in obedience and discipleship in order to receive eternal life. This is a false gospel.

There is also a more subtle form of lordship salvation. They may say," if you are truly saved, you will not want to commit sin and if you do live in sin, then you were never saved." Another one is "a person must desire to be Christ like to receive eternal life." They may also say, "you must want to have a relationship with Jesus to receive eternal life." There are endless ways of repackaging this lordship message. Everyone of these is wrong and steers people away from true salvation.

These false preachers sow discord. They can discourage and confuse people that are already saved. They will do their best to convince believers that the works they preach is the only way to have eternal life. Weak believers can be manipulated by these people and begin spreading a false gospel. They can be saved and not even know it. There is no assurance in lordship salvation. What happens if you commit a sin? Do you lose your salvation? According to their teachings, if you commit a sin you have to repent and ask forgiveness. What if you forget one sin? One sin is enough to get someone sent to hell. In order to get to heaven, we must be perfect. Not one sin can be allowed into that place. The only one who was ever perfect was Jesus Christ and through him we can have eternal life. Also, lordship preachers will tell there followers if you commit sin then you were never saved. They have this thing called heart faith and head faith, like just saying it but not truly believing it. This is complete garbage. If you believe Christ died for your sins then you are saved. There is no getting down and really getting right with God and really accepting him into your life. That is just another subtle trick of the Devil.

The real problem with this belief is that it puts man above God. They say that what Jesus did was not enough. They have to finish the job. This is detestable in the eyes of God. It makes people into their own God. They determine weather they go to heaven or not. In essence they are the lord of their own life. They take God off the throne and put themselves there in his place. This teaching can be very appealing to peoples pride.

Matthew 7

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I hope you enjoyed this article. If you are not a Christian, I invite you to get saved now. Tomorrow may be to late. To get saved all you have to do, is admit that you are a sinner and that Jesus Christ died for your sins. The only way to take away sins is with the pure shed blood of Jesus Christ. Good works can not take away sins. If they could, then Jesus Christ died in vain. Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead as payment for all sins. Once you believe that, you are saved forever. You did nothing to earn it and you can do nothing to lose it.

I Corinthians 15

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Ephesians 2

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Titus 3

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Romans 5

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
