Living for God

What does it mean to live for God? Does God expect you to live for him? These are questions that all people should ask themselves. I know I wish that I had asked these questions. The majority of the world lives primarily for themselves. The doctrine of the world is, you only live once or if it feels good do it. The world will tell you that seeking pleasure and gain is what life is all about. The world teaches people to be selfish, it encourages selfish behavior. There is some backlash to this self centered approach to life. Movements like black lives matter for instance, where strangers selflessly make sacrifices for other people. Is this a positive change in direction? No, all it seems to do is spurn destruction and anarchy. It always seems to resort back to selfish behavior.
The bible teaches against this kind of behavior. It teaches that we are to live for God. To make God the center of our lives. We are to reject the worlds system. God also wants us all to get saved and go to heaven. A person gets saved by believing that Jesus died for their sins. It is not by our good works, but by Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. The world at large wants nothing to do with God. They think that living for God is boring and awful. They just want to have as much fun as they can and get as much as they can. Ever here the expression, "I want it all"? God wants all people to get saved and then live a separated Godly life. It is Gods dream for all of us to live like Jesus Christ. People do not want this, Jesus wasn't cool, he didn't sleep around, he didn't get drunk or high, he didn't gossip. Jesus did not do anything that the world loves. They hated Jesus because he was not like them, he stood only for righteousness. People could not stand to be around such a person.
Living for God is a command for all believers. Every saved child of God, is expected to live for God. This means leaving the world behind and serving God. This means no more living for self, but living for God. Everyday you must crucify your flesh, which means denying yourself the sinful things that feel good. You will not be able to engage with lost people anymore. All of their cussing, bragging, lying, gossiping, sinful living, etc. you will not be able to be around anymore.
Ephesians 5
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
When a person is living for God, they will more or less be an outcast from this world. When a person gets saved, they are indwelled with the Holy Spirit and the demons around them become their enemies. Demons work through people and they will make sure these people have nothing to do with a Christian. When a person gets saved, they are no longer a part of the world. The world will hate them like they hated Jesus Christ. So, if the world will not accept you, then live for God. Makes sense.
Living For God is not all bad, it is actually quite good. There are all kinds of blessings and rewards for serving God. God blesses obedience. The ultimate sign of obedience is submitting to the authority of God. God is pleased when his people serve him. In return he blesses these peoples lives. You have a choice, you can either serve God or disobey God. He will either bless your life or curse your life. You do not want a life cursed by God. It will be miserable beyond anything you can imagine. I know first hand how that feels, don't do it! If a saved person lives for God, he can bless them in all kinds of amazing ways. Their life will be filled with joy and peace, that the world craves. God will answer prayers and work their problems out for good. There is nothing like the light of God shining on a persons life. God will also reward obedient believers in heaven. He has all kinds of fantastic gifts to give people in heaven, if they will just obey him. Heaven will be amazing for everyone there, but it will be even more amazing for those who served God here on earth. God can give so much if people will just obey him. He can give you a life that you can't even imagine, if you will live for him.
Living for God does not have to be a struggle. Many imagine a world where everyone is having fun except for them. At first this may be the case, but over time this view will change. It did for me and many others, who served God. Over time, my worldly desires have faded. I still have days where I long for the things of this world, but they are becoming less frequent. I believe one day they will fade away completely. God will change you, where the things you used to love you will hate and the things you used to hate you will love. Give God a chance, and he will do a great and mighty work in your life.
I hope you enjoyed this article. If you are not a Christian, I invite you to get saved now. Tomorrow may be to late. To get saved all you have to do, is admit that you are a sinner and that Jesus Christ died for your sins. The only way to take away sins is with the pure shed blood of Jesus Christ. Good works can not take away sins. If they could, then Jesus Christ died in vain. Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead as payment for all sins. Once you believe that, you are saved forever. You did nothing to earn it and you can do nothing to lose it.
Galatians 2
16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
I Corinthians 15
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
John 3
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Revelation 1
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
