Leaving the World Behind

2 Corinthians 6:7- Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

After becoming a Christian, there is a command of God to be Separate from this world. Once saved, we are not to have anything to do this world. The Bible calls it this present evil world (Gal. 1:4). God does not want us to participate in the evil things that other people do. He wants us to live set apart holy lives. People will laugh at that. The world loves wickedness, they love evil. If you do evil in this world, they will tell you good boy or good girl. People hate other people who don't live wicked like them. Stay away from these people. I personally believe that the biggest deterrent from getting saved is that people don't want to give up their wicked life. Peter Ruckman said " you have to come to terms with living a dull life". This is a huge no no in our society. Life is all about having fun and you only live once. For a lost person that is true they only live once then eternal death in hell, terrifying.

The idea of leaving the world behind is especially difficult for young people. Their whole world is about fitting in. There is a reason for that, Satan set it up that way, to lead young people away from Jesus Christ. They call it peer pressure. Your peers will shame you so bad that you will do anything to make it stop. Like young boys and their virginity. Their is nothing worse for a young man than to be a virgin. Having to admit that to people is mortifying for young men. People will look at them like they are worthless nothings. It is one of the lowliest feeling a person can have. For young girls it is the pressure to drink alcohol and go to parties. A new pretty girl shows up at school and everybody wants her to go to the party. This is so the boys can get her drunk and have their way with her. This is sick and disgusting and totally acceptable in our society. Give those boys what they want, what's wrong with you. A girl who does not submit will be ostracized. No girl wants to be singled out and treated like garbage by everyone else. The way girls treat each other goes way deeper than that, I am just giving an example.

Adults don't get let off the hook either. At work they have to listen to worldly music all day, hear about their coworkers sinful lives, be expected to go to happy hours after work. If they fail to measure up to everyone else, then they are the office weirdo or have no friends. It is pretty much mandatory that when adults get together, they will drink alcohol.

No one wants to be the odd one out. Let me tell you it is awful. I have been made fun of my whole life for not fitting in. It has brought me to the brink of suicide on several occasions. The feeling of being a worthless joke, that people can just make fun of, feels terrible. I did my best to fit in, it just did not work. I have heard from several sources that trying to fit into the world as a Christian doesn't work. Yankee Arnold said "you won't have any wins, no one will have your back, and no one will really want you around". For me this was the exact case. I have also heard that some Christians fair pretty well in the world, then God kills them, so pick your poison. It is best to just leave the world behind and stop trying to fight God expecting to win. I wish I knew that when I got saved, it would have saved me over 25 years of heart ache and misery. I still think about the people from my past to this day and all the bullying I endured. Save yourself the trouble and be ye separate.

The world is not your friend Christian, it will chew you up and spit you out. Ask yourself what kind of life do you want to live. A life of homelessness eating out of garbage cans or a loving spouse, nice home, a family, and a rewarding career. I can not guarantee either of these things happening to someone, but they are both very possible based on the choices someone makes after being saved. People will say "God will never hurt me, he wants me to be happy". This is a lie from the devil. God will guarantee you food and clothes, that's it. Where you eat that food and get your clothes depends on YOU! If a saved person decides to leave the world behind and starts living for the Lord, in time God will bless them for it. Alternatively, if a person lives in sin like the world, God will chastise them for it. There are a lot of untruths about God out there and most of them deal with his blessings. Most people think if they go to church and throw some money in the plate, God will bless them. Despite the fact that they watch movies all week, drink alcohol, and use profanity. God will not bless this behavior. God will bless obedience to him. When someone leaves the sinful world behind and walks with the Lord, then comes the blessings. The Christian life is one of the hardest things a person can ever do, but it is also the most rewarding. You will have God on your side and that is the best feeling a person can have.

I hope you enjoyed this article. If you are not a Christian, I invite you to get saved now. Tomorrow may be to late. To get saved all you have to do, is admit that you are a sinner and that Jesus Christ died for your sins. The only way to take away sins is with the pure shed blood of Jesus Christ. Good works can not take away sins. If they could, then Jesus Christ died in vain. Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead as payment for all sins. Once you believe that, you are saved forever. You did nothing to earn it and you can do nothing to lose it.

Ephesians 2

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Titus 3

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Acts 4

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Romans 10

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
