How do I know for sure that I am going to heaven?

Many people who profess to be Christians lack assurance that they will go to heaven. Most churches in this day and age preach a perverted Gospel. They like to add things to salvation like water baptism, church attendance, and turning from sins; to name a few. The mainstream cults have all kinds of crazy rules. Look into the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witnesses, and the Seventh Day Adventists, to get an idea of what THEY require for salvation. I say THEY because it is not of God, but man made. The Catholics have their endless rituals that all trace back to paganism. The Calvinists have their pre-destination, which means only the select few will be allowed into heaven. If that were true, what an evil God that made us all. Still there are millions who follow this teaching. Some, cry themselves to sleep every night, not knowing if they are going to hell. There are many people in all the organizations that I listed above, that question if they will make it to heaven. I have the simple answer for all of them, it is NO! That is as long as they adhere to their religions doctrine. All of them have put their faith in the wrong thing.

People will say, "how do you know that your right and they are wrong." "You can't know for sure, there are thousands of religions, how do you think you are right and they are wrong." It seems like a legitimate question to an unsaved person. How can a person know their religion is right, when there are so many? What should anyone put their faith in? What can be trusted? How can anyone know for sure? Well the the answer is quite simple. The Bible tells us exactly what it takes to go to heaven. The bible and the bible ALONE is the authority on heaven. It is God's word. Any religion that doesn't use the bible or adds other books to the bible, can't be trusted. Once you deviate from the bible you are now learning from man. God can be trusted, man can not.

Jeremiah 9:17- The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

People may say " how do we know that you are not deceiving people". That is a legitimate question. I will use the bible to support my claims. I do not use just any bible either. I use the King James Bible only. I wrote a blog a while back about why it is the only true word of God, and all other bibles have been adulterated. You see, Satan will do anything to keep people from heaven. He will adulterate anything he can to guide people away from true biblical salvation.

The only way to know that you are going to heaven, is to put your faith in Christ alone. You must believe that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh. You must recognize that you are a sinner and there is nothing you can do to change that. You must believe that Christ died on the cross as payment for ALL your sins, that he was buried, and rose again on the third day. In doing so, Jesus paid the sin debt of the entire world past, present, and future. Heaven is a gift from God. It is something he gives to us, not something we give to him. We do not work to earn salvation or prove we are worthy. When we put our faith in Jesus death on the cross as payment for our sins, in that moment we are saved. It happens in an instant. There is usually no feeling or experience that goes along with it, but in that moment you are changed. The moment you believe that Jesus paid for all your sins on the cross, you are indwelt with the Holy Spirit. He enters into you the moment you believe. He doesn't ask permission to come in, he just enters. You will never feel him enter, though some claim too. Once he enters you though, you are no longer a child of the Devil. Satan knows this, and the world may start to look at you different. The old way of life, may not be so easy anymore. After salvation, you are free to live any way you please. Your life is in your own hands, but you now have a heavenly father watching everything you do. Like a father on earth, he will discipline his children. God's discipline is horrifying, if you ask me or others that have been through it. A changed life is not required for salvation. That is a lie from the Devil. If you add one thing to the Gospel (Grace through Faith / a free gift through believing) it is no longer valid for salvation. Man does not add to God's perfect work. A man does not assign his own work and claim it equal with God. That is blasphemy. Yet every Sunday, untold millions go to churches that preach such blasphemy and the people eat it up.

I said that I could back up my claim with the bible. Lets start with the gospel clearly given in this passage.

I Corinthians 15

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Here the Apostle Paul gives the clear gospel that he received direct from the ascended Jesus Christ. He clearly states that all people are saved (from hell) through believing (faith) that Christ died for our sins. That is the gospel.

Ephesians 2

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Again the Apostle Paul clearly states that it is Grace through faith and not of good works. Grace means a free gift, not a prayer you say before a meal. Faith is another word for believing. Heaven is a free gift, to all who believe Jesus Christ died for their sins. This is a very clear and important passage in the bible. It is extremely straight forward and so is this one.

John 3

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The most famous verse in the bible, John 3:16. What is it about? Salvation by grace though faith. From the mouth of Jesus Christ himself, telling people that the only way to heaven is by believing that he paid the price and that it is a free gift from God. Who can receive this free gift? Whoever believes, that means anybody. The Calvinist apparently do not use this verse, as wells as many other verses.

The whole bible speaks of a redeemer who takes away the sins of the world. Noah going into the Ark with his family is a picture of Christ. They believed and were saved, Gen. 7:7. Abraham when he went to sacrifice Isaac trusted God and God offered a Lamb in Isaac's place. The Lamb is a picture of Jesus Christ Gen. 22:6-13. The innocent dying for the guilty. The promised land was a picture of heaven. Only by belief, could they enter. None believed so they perished.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus is the only way to heaven. Do not be deceived into believing man's false religions, that teach a thousand ways to heaven. Jesus Christ is the only way, he is the narrow gate.

Matthew7:

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I hope you enjoyed this article. If you are not a Christian, I invite you to get saved now. Tomorrow may be to late. To get saved all you have to do, is admit that you are a sinner and that Jesus Christ died for your sins. The only way to take away sins is with the pure shed blood of Jesus Christ. Good works can not take away sins. If they could, then Jesus Christ died in vain. Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead as payment for all sins. Once you believe that, you are saved forever. You did nothing to earn it and you can do nothing to lose it. The below passage is Jesus speaking.

John 10

11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
