Fighting the Devil

Let me start by saying that no one can fight the Devil and win. That is unless they have the Holy spirit on their side. God and his angels are the only ones who can defeat the Devil. Many people will ask why doesn't God just kill the the Devil? It is because he gives people free will to choose between good and evil. Sadly most people choose evil. Evil feels good it brings people pleasure. Most people don't want to live with a bunch of rules that ruin their fun. Christians sadly fall into this trap. The Devil isn't really that interested in unsaved sinners, he already has their soul. He does what he can to keep them blind about who God is. It is the Christians that he hates and goes to war against. Some ask where does Satan's hatred of humans come from.

It all started before humans even got here. Many believe that God left Satan in charge of earth before man existed. Satan's job was to fill the universe with beauty and music. Satan was and still is the master musician. Satan got greedy and decided that he wanted it all and he would simple kill God and take his throne.

Isaiah 14

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Satan convinced 1/3 of the angels to rebel with him and they were cast down from heaven. Hell was then created for Satan and his angels. Satan still has free reign on this earth, but his time is running out. That is where Satan's anger really comes from. He will spend his eternity in the lake of fire and burn in agony forever. Us Christians get to go to heaven and some will even be like the most high. The ones who do the most for the Lord will have the greatest rewards. Satan is a super intelligent very powerful spiritual being. We humans are like bags of meat to him. We are nothing in his eyes, like living pieces of trash. He hates the fact that lowly little humans will get the chance to be like God. It drives him crazy. He sets his sights on Christians to destroy them.

I Peter 5

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

As soon as a person get's saved they become the enemy of Satan. God will hold Satan back with what is referred to as a hedge of protection. This hedge must be maintained in order to keep Satan back. To maintain the hedge, the Christian must live an obedient life serving the Lord. While many do this, there are some who live in disobedience, the whole time tearing down their hedge. Once the hedge has been torn down, Satan can now come in. Now that person has a fight on their hands. Satan can not just do whatever he wants. God will tell him what to do. Satan must obey God, even he knows better. God will usually have Satan attack you in the part of your life that God wants changed. For instance a guy who likes to drink and party. Satan will attack this part of his life. Satan will also request to attack other areas and God may let him. Satan loves to attack the family, he will attack a persons health both mental and physical, he will attack a persons finances. He will do anything he can to destroy that persons life.

John 10

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

If the Devil had his way, he would kill every Christian on the planet. God keeps him reigned in, but in some cases he will say go ahead and kill that person. Once the Devil has a foothold in your life, you will want things to change desperately. There is hope for all believers and that is the all mighty God. If you give up your sinful ways and start living for God, in time he will begin to fight for you. Under your own power fighting the Devil is impossible. He will beat you down and beat you down. He will use people, things, and circumstances to destroy you. I have personally gone through this and it is extremely painful. I have been trying to live right for the last year and a half, but the Devil is fighting me the whole way. He keeps tempting me and provoking me, and I keep taking the bait. It is going to be a hard road out of this. Through my continued faith in God, I know that he will come through in his time. He is there with me through all of this and he will deliver me through this. This is the case for all believers fighting the Devil. God will always be there, and if we submit ourselves to him he will come through. If a Christian never changes their evil ways, they will live a life of total misery. We must be patient in the battle and let God do the fighting.

Some times a person is saved and living right, and the Devil still attacks them. God will allow this to happen in order to test and grow that person. They must come to God and make known their request and trust in him. They must gain patience, knowledge, and understanding from the situation. God wants to mature every Christian to ultimately make them as much like Christ as possible. Stay strong in the battle and keep the faith.

I hope you enjoyed this article. If you are not a Christian, I invite you to get saved now. Tomorrow may be to late. To get saved all you have to do, is admit that you are a sinner and that Jesus Christ died for your sins. The only way to take away sins is with the pure shed blood of Jesus Christ. Good works can not take away sins. If they could, then Jesus Christ died in vain. Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead as payment for all sins. Once you believe that, you are saved forever. You did nothing to earn it and you can do nothing to lose it.

Romans 3

10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 5

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

I Corinthians 15

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

John 3

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
