Answered Prayer

Most people including Christians think that prayer is a waist of time. Often people will use prayer as a last resort, like a plane crashing to the ground or a teenager who might be pregnant, you get the picture. This is not the proper use of prayer. When prayer is used right, it is a powerful tool. We all have problems, both believers and unbelievers. For the believer, their is a source of hope, that is God. We communicate with God through prayer and he communicates to us through his word. If a believer is going through a difficult time, it is in their best interests to bring it to God. Christians will have problems for various reasons, God may be testing their faith, He maybe growing them, he may be Chastening them. Either way, he wants his children to reach out to him, and build a relationship. God desires fellowship with his people. Christians should be in prayer as often as possible. We should be on our knees, alone, in a closed room, praying to God. This is not the only way to pray though, you can pray anywhere. You don't need to kneel down and close your eyes, you can just talk to God in your mind. If you are having issues in your life that you want solved, pray over them constantly. The more you pray about something, the more likely it is to get answered. The devil will be working on you too. The longer you pray without it getting answered, the more the devil will try to convince you that it is a waist of time. He will do his best to weaken your faith, before your prayer is answered. This break through, will create a strong relationship with God that the Devil hates. For new believers and the unsaved, this is a crucial. If the devil can convince these people to quit, he can keep them from getting saved or building a relationship with him. Hang in their and don't give up. When you feel like quitting, pray more. This shows faith and conviction that God loves.

God does answer prayer, He has for me on several occasions. He answered a prayer for me just the other day, that was crucial. It was something that was plaguing me for 6 months. I would pray about it in the morning and at night, along with my other prayers, but nothing was happening. I couldn't get any further on my own, so I decided to pray about it 10 times a day. Like serious on my knees in my "prayer closet" praying. Well things started to happen and I was making some head way, but I felt this strong urge to quit. I felt like it just wasn't going to happen. Then out of the blue, boom, my prayer was answered. I was elated, I thought it was impossible. Under my own power it was, but when I turned it over to God, it took less than 2 weeks. I got exactly what I asked for too. Next time, I will ask for more than just the bare minimum, because I have a feeling that I can not limit God. No one can, there is nothing to small or to big that God can't handle. As I write this, I have a very serious issue that has plagued me for most of my life, and it is beyond my control. I am going to dedicate as much time to prayer over this issue as possible. Hopefully praying 10-15 times a day Lord willing, until my prayer gets answered. This issue is going to require a miracle. Luckily, God is still in the miracle business. I have faith that he can set me free from this.

A great way to super charge prayer, is by filling your life with the things of God. Like reading and studying the Bible everyday. Like I said, God communicates to us through his word, and we can glean insights to help us with our problems. Listening to sermons everyday is also really helpful. Listening to Christian music can lift your spirit, and help you to connect with God. Just be careful what kind of Christian music you listen to. Avoid a lot of modern Christian music, like Christian rock or rap. You should be listening to fundamental Christian music, known as hymns. Most of these songs have been around for a long time, and are Godly. Now, lets see what the bible has to say about prayer.

John 15:7 - If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 - Pray without ceasing.

Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

John 15:16 - Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Psalms 50:15 - And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

James 5

13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

Here we have countless verses of scripture dedicated to the power of prayer. Some say prayer is a waist of time? When the founding fathers were writing the declaration of independence, they were incessantly in prayer. They wanted a country ruled by the morals of it's people, that resembled old Testament Israel. These men were in constant disagreement over how the government should be set up. When they would reach a stale mate, they would go off and pray, then reassemble and come to an agreement. This would lead to the creation of what some would argue was the greatest nation in history. These were Bible believing Christians that knew the power of prayer and the providence of God.

Do not limit God or give up on him. Keep bringing your problems to him and he will see you through. I hope this was a blessing to you. I will leave you with the only way to heaven, the gospel.

I Corinthians 15

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
